It lies within the Shangri-La Coffee plantation (now renamed as Kifaru Coffee) and is surrounded by lush, green gardens that make one think of a grander, colonial era. Guests can choose from 10 cottages and two types of accommodation at The Manor at Ngorongoro Crater: The Manor Cottage Suite Rooms or The Stable Cottage. Each of the cottages has ensuite bathrooms, cosy fireplaces (both indoors and outdoors!) and private verandahs that look out over the magnificent East Africa landscape.

The Manor Cottage Suites have a private sun terrace as well as a double open-fronted fireplace. The traditional Cape Dutch architecture is echoed in the cottage’s interiors with an ensuite bath and shower that has a Victorian claw-footed bathtub and a “rainfall” shower. The Stable Cottage, on the other hand, is for families and has 3 guest bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. This is perfect for a multi-gen group or a family – it has a lounge, TV room and dining room. Guests have the option to dine in the privacy of their accommodation.
