Situated in the Lamai Triangle in Tanzania, the lodge is set in a remote part of the Maasai Mara National Reserve that’s famous for its annual wildebeest migration. This is the ultimate Africa experience as you sleep in canvas tents surrounded by nothing but nature. It’s a place of wide spaces, big cats and a classic African safari experience that many dream of.

About Singita Mara River Tented Camp
This bohemian, intimate and luxurious tented camp makes guests feel welcome immediately. Tanzania is most famous for the Serengeti and the Great Migration of zebra and wildebeest – and it can get busy with crowds of tourists. Singita Mara River Tented Camp, however, allows guests to experience the Great Migration but in a remote part of the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Note: Only children of the age 10 and above are allowed at the lodge.

Singita Mara River Tented Camp Accommodation
Guests can choose from six canvas tents with endless views over the Mara River: there are 4 one-bedroom ensuite tents and 2 family tents. Interiors are decorated with spun fabrics, stone, canvas and leather – as well as Maasai colours and art by young African designers. This luxury tented camp’s motto is to be “off the grid” and so there’s no television, the electricity is solar-powered and while there is WIFI it’s possible that it’ll be quite slow due to the remote location.
While there’s no actual start and end to the migration it usually takes place in a 6-week period, starting when the calves are born, between the months of January and March. It’s hard to forecast where the Wildebeest Migration will take place – as each year it’s different – but generally, over the year, animals move from the southern-eastern plains of the Serengeti (November to March) through the western-central region to the north of the Serengeti National Park (May to October).
