About Sindabezi Island
The eco retreat is situated on Zambia’s Zambezi River on a small island, running on solar power and the lodge also doesn’t use any plastic to respect its natural surroundings. Activities at the lodge include game drives in Zambia’s famous reserves and river cruises to view all the wild animals who need the river to survive. At night, you will be served delicious dinners around the fire or you can enjoy a meal on a floating platform in the middle of the Zambezi.
At night, you will fall asleep to the hippos grunting and, in the morning, wake up to the warm rays of the sun. It’s truly a bucket list experience for visitors.

Sindabezi Island Accommodation
Guests can choose from one of five chalets at Sindabezi Island Lodge. Sindabezi is remote and located on its own island, accessible by boat only, so the peace and calm surround the lodge. You’ll experience absolute tranquillity here! The chalets are divided into four luxury chalets and one honeymoon chalet. The chalets are set on private wooden walkways and have solar heated showers and a “loo with a view”. While private, they’re also suitable for families and groups travelling together.
The honeymoon chalet is situated far away from the other chalets on a secluded sandy shore at the end of the island. Guests can enjoy a romantic bubble bath in the old-fashioned clawfoot bath that’s perfect for two. The water and lights are powered by solar panels. The entire Sindabezi Island is also romantically lit with traditional hurricane lamps and candles.
