The Nay Palad Birds Nest
About Segera Retreat
Segera goes to great lengths to ensure that the height of luxury can also be ecologically sound. Vast solar installations provide all power, including heating water for their dramatic outdoor baths. Captured and recycled rainwater irrigates the verdant gardens and feeds the organic vegetable garden whose produce is used in every meal on the estate. Segera lies on what was once degraded land, that has been transformed into a retreat like no other.

Segera Retreat Accommodation
At Segera Retreat you can stay in one of six villas, the picture-perfect Villa Segera, villa-for-two, the larger Segera House or the unique Nay Palad Bird’s Nest. Canopied four-poster beds overlooking the savannah, salt water swimming pools, and bespoke interiors characterise all of Segera’s accommodation. In the villas, you can look forward to private decks and welcoming interiors, as well as a Personal Villa Attendant who will cater for your every need. Villa Segera, their retreat-for-two, is made up of two buildings connected by a swing bridge. Private dining areas, a salt-water pool and an exclusive Michael Poliza photo gallery enhance this romantic space.
At Segera House, double volume living areas and dramatic chandeliers make entertaining into the warm, African night a breeze. The three indoor lounge areas spill out onto the outdoor living area and private garden, ending in the wonderfully cool plunge pool. The two, large upstairs bedrooms look out over the savannah, making the comfortable beds even harder to leave.
The Nay Palad Birds Nest is an experience unlike any other. The top floor is completely open to the sky, and you can sleep there under the sparkling African sky, or in the bedroom on the floor below. Perfect for couples or small, cozy families, the Nay Palad Birds Nest will have you waking to the sounds of the African bush, surrounded by pristine, untouched nature at the side of the river.
