AndBeyond has two properties in South Africa’s Timbavati: Ngala Safari Lodge and the Ngala Tented Camp. What sets this property apart is that it’s situated right on the Timbavati River with a great diversity of wildlife. Elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard and white rhino are common here – and used to game vehicles. The sophisticated tented camp has a modern touch – plush armchairs on the large viewing decks overlook the river and wild landscapes. In the evening, guests can share their tales around the roaring fire while enjoying a sumptuous meal.

Each of the 9 air-conditioned tented suites has wooden decks with views of the riverbed. Each suite features an outdoor shower, Wi-Fi, bath, extra-length twin bed and other luxuries to make your stay comfortable. The tents are made of canvas but provide enough protection from the roaring lions at nighttime. Flickering lanterns light up the grounds and create a beautiful atmosphere as the sun sets.

Giant trees form a canopy over the camp and provide shade in the heat of summer. The trees attract endemic birds and small animals to the camp, creating the feeling that you’re truly in the wilderness. Excellent service is typical of AndBeyond properties, and Ngala is no different.
