About the Mount Nelson

The Mount Nelson Hotel was built in the late 1800’s as a luxury hotel and served as an army HQ for the British against the Boers in the second Anglo/Boer war. Churchill was even stationed here for a time as a war correspondent during that period – a true Cape Culture experience in the heart of the Mother City!
