About Grande Roche Hotel

The estate dates back to 1715, when, according to the records, a land grant was given to Hermanus Bosman, assistant to the local Reverend at the time. The Bosman family resided here for nearly 200 years, until 1993, when a change in ownership took place and the 23-hectare farm was restored to its original Cape Dutch former glory, and granted national monument status. The beautiful Cape Dutch homestead dates back to the 18th century, and offers guests a variety of sumptuous accommodations all set within the surroundings of a working fruit farm.

The Grande Roche Hotel has a collection of suites scattered throughout its wonderful network of adjoining buildings. All suites have been painstakingly restored from former working buildings such as the Coach House, the Terrace Suite, Duplex Suites, and Slave Quarters. Each room invariably possesses its own national monument plaque, and names such as Java, Jasmin and Batavia adorn the entrances.
