About Flatdogs Camp

Flatdogs Camp is an owner-managed, exclusive lodge that sits next to the Luangwa River in the South Luangwa National Park. If you’re looking for a remote and off-the-beaten-track safari, yet affordable location, then Zambia is for you! Flatdogs Camp is perfect for families, couples, honeymooners and well-seasoned travellers. The area of South Luangwa is well-known for its excellent game viewing, untouched wilderness and the bush that’s just waiting to be explored! South Luangwa National Park is one of Zambia’s most popular and exciting parks – with year-round game viewing in open 4×4 vehicles, walking safaris and even night drives. The professional guides undergo strict exams and have excellent knowledge in subjects relating to mammals, flora to birding.

Note: Children of all ages are welcome. If required, parents can book a babysitting service.

Flatdogs Camp Accommodation

Flatdogs Camp has different accommodation options on offer and can accommodate up to 20 guests. Guests can choose from ensuite safari tents, the Jackalberry Tree House, the Crocodile Nest or spacious Chalet Rooms.

The Jackalberry Tree House is a bespoke two-bedroom treehouse with all the luxuries – but few walls! You can enjoy armchair game viewing directly from your deck or bed. If you’re looking for a more traditional option, the safari tents are an “Africa under canvas” experience and have stunning views over the river or waterhole, depending on which tent you choose. If you want to be spoiled, the Crocodile Nest is perfect for groups and can accommodate between 4 – 6 people. It has a private deck and pool as well as private dining. The Chalet Rooms are great for families or groups, featuring an enclosed verandah, thatch roofs and are cool during the hotter months.

There’s a restaurant at the lodge, which is also suitable for children as it has a menu specifically made for them. Guests can choose their meal each day ala carte.
