About Bilimungwe Bushcamp

Found in South Luangwa National Park, Bilimungwe is surrounded by the middle of the park’s miombo woodlands, savannah grassland and river channels. The camp is rustic and charming – a mix of old-world charm and modern luxuries. Here, you can sit on one of the many decks (at your chalet or the main building) and watch the animals but also just take in the sights and sounds of Zambia’s vast landscapes. Guests can go on morning and evening game drives – and walking safaris are also on offer for those who want a more up-close encounter with the African bush.

The camp in South Luangwa National Park is made up of just four chalets that have been named Bilimungwe Chalets, which guests can choose from. The chalets are spacious, made of local wood with a thatch roof, and have large outdoor showers – as well as indoor showers and washing basins that were made by local artisans. The furniture at the lodge is handmade and only African fabrics have been used. While two rooms have twin beds, the other two have king-size beds. Each chalet looks over the busy watering hole that is frequented by wild animals including four of the Big Five.
