About Azura Mozambique

Azura Mozambique is located on Benguerra Island, 14kms east of the coast of Mozambique and from the International Airport of Vilanculos, within the Bazaruto Archipelago and National Marine Park. Azura Benguerra Island, the second largest island of the Archipelago, is accessed by flying from OR Tambo International Airport Johannesburg, South Africa, to Vilanculos, Mozambique (flight duration 2hrs), and then for a 10 minute state of the art helicopter flight (South African owned) to Azura.

Azura comprises 16 very spacious Beach Villa’s, all situated a few steps back from the sandy beach, and enclosed by a sanctuary of lush green forest and indigenous trees. All the Villa’s have their own private beach frontage, plunge pools, sundeck, salas, ceiling fans and air-conditioning, whilst be serviced by your own butler host.

Dining

Azura’s objective for all guests is that you never dine in the same place twice. Whether its a picnic on a dune, or a candle-lit dinner on the beach, breakfast in your villa, or al fresco dining in your ‘sala’ – nothing is too much to ask at Azura. Emphasis is on fish dishes and you will always have a choice of menus. All meals, local beers, spirits, house wines and beverages are include in the rates.

Your own butler service will always been on hand to bring you a cocktail or a snack. You will inevitably be so endeared by the service that you won’t want to leave these warm, kind and loving Mozambicans, to return to your own home!

With the Indian Ocean on its door-step, there is a plethora of activities to enjoy, such as snorkelling, scuba-diving on the reef, fly fishing in shore, or big game fishing off-shore, boat rides in a traditional Dhow, spotting dolphins, turtles, hump-back whales (in season), or  simply walk along the deserted beaches collecting pansy shells.
