Victoria Falls, Safari & Botswana Itinerary
Day 1 –Arrive at Victoria Falls Airport. You will be met and transferred by road to Ilala Lodge Hotel where you will spend 2 nights. Ilala Lodge Hotel is located only 8 minutes away from the spectacular Victoria Falls. A family run hotel, Ilala has 73 stylish, spacious rooms that offer the ultimate in comfort and luxury.
Day 2 – Ilala Lodge Hotel takes its cuisine seriously, offering culinary delights at its on-site Palm Restaurant. The restaurant offers a magnificent à la carte menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner with South Africa’s finest wines, cocktails and artisan gins. The al-fresco dining experience under the starlit African sky is also an epic experience.
Follow in the footsteps of David Livingstone aboard the Ra-Ikane boat on the mighty Zambezi River. Named after his instrumental guide, the boat represents the grace of a bygone era honouring the rich history of Victoria Falls and its explorers, adventurers and heroes.
Day 3 – Leave the beautiful Ilala Lodge Hotel behind you and take a road transfer to Kasane Airport. Form the airport, you will be met and transferred to Chobe Under Canvas in Botswana. You’ll be spending 2 nights at the tranquil and luxurious mobile tented camp.
This tented safari camp has ensuite bathrooms (with flush toilets & hot bucket showers) and is located right inside the game-rich Chobe National Park which creates personal encounters with Botswana’s wildlife. Carefully positioned close to resident game, you will enjoy the barefoot luxury and beautiful simplicity of living in nature.
Day 4 – Chobe National Park is home to one of the largest concentrations of elephants on the African continent. Surrounded by wildlife areas and reserves that allow the game to roam freely, the 11 700km² reserve is in the far north of Botswana, bordering the Chobe River. Chobe is particularly well known for its large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as the two antelope that cannot be found anywhere else in Botswana, the puku and Chobe bushbuck.
Day 5 – Depart Chobe Under Canvas and transfer back to Kasane Airport for your scheduled flight to Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp, where you will spend 3 nights. Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp is in an exclusive wildlife concession by the Okavango Delta, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve.
Day 6 – The camp has nine exclusive tented suites, raised on wooden platforms, which boast breath-taking views of the Delta. Each spacious tent features ensuite bathrooms and private verandas with romantic salas overlooking the floodplain. The heart of Nxabega lies in its handsome living and dining areas, where burnished teak floors and a steeply pitched thatch roof frame a lofty and comfortable space.
Day 7 – Guest areas are made of endemic wood, reed and thatch; the guest areas include indoor and outdoor dining areas, a curio shop and a swimming pool with a large viewing deck. Guests can enjoy private bush dinners, breakfasts in bed, lamplit cocktails on a river island or a walking safari with al fresco picnic. Nxabega’s staff are warm and friendly.
Day 8 – At a time to be confirmed by lodge management, you will be transferred on a scheduled flight back to Maun Airport and your connecting flight back home.
