Cape Town and the Klein Karoo

Cape Town is an excellent place to start your honeymoon, but equally wonderful to spend the entirety of it. There’s just so much to see and do! On our 7-night Cape package, you could start off your trip in style at the elegant Ellerman House. Spend a few days exploring, wining and dining yourselves in and around Cape Town, drinking in this incredible city and each other.

Then, make your way to the magical Mont Rochelle in the winelands of Franschhoek. Known as the gourmet capital of the Cape, you can flit from wine estate to restaurant tasting local vinous masterpieces and eating incredible food. Pop to nearby Paarl for a hot air balloon ride, enjoy a round of golf or indulge in a relaxing massage at the spa. No matter how you choose to spend your time, we’re sure you’ll love it.

From there, you’ll head to the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, a malaria-free game reserve just a few hours from Cape Town. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the African bush and sight animals in their natural habitats. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to spot the rare white lion on one of your game drives! When your whirlwind trip is done, you’ll head back to Cape Town Airport and depart for home with your head full of Africa and your hearts full of each other.

Cape Town and the Kruger National Park

If your honeymoon in Africa wouldn’t be complete without a proper safari, this is the one for you. Choose between two packages: one for 10 nights (our most popular honeymoon package) and this one for 13 nights. In each one, you’ll have the chance to explore Cape Town and experience the magic of the Kruger National Park. Choose between a stay in the world-renown V&A Waterfront at The Victoria and Alfred Hotel or at Abbey Manor on the slopes of the iconic Table Mountain.

Choose your own adventure for your honeymoon in South Africa

After a few days spent exploring Cape Town, the surrounding winelands, and nearby Robben Island, you’ll embark on the next leg of your trip: safari! Choose between a stay at the Kapama River Lodge at the Kapama Private Game Reserve, or at the Arathusa Safari Lodge at Sabi Sands. Both lodges are in the Greater Kruger Park, in private concessions adjacent to the main national park. This gives all visitors access to the whole park and the chance to sight the incredible Big Five, too!

At Kapama River Lodge, you could try an elephant interaction or even experience a safari walk from the back of one of the elephants. You could also book a romantic night out in the open air. Enjoy dinner and a lovely bottle of wine before retiring to a luxurious bed with the African stars as your canopy. That’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Arathusa boasts frequent sightings of the elusive leopard, one of the hardest of the Big Five to spot. The Lodge also enjoys views over a nearby watering hole, perfect for spotting herds of buffalo and elephant. It’s also a great spot for birding and is home to the rare Horus Swift. Make sure you book a couples massage at the spa overlooking the tranquillity of the African bushveld. There’s no experience quite like it!

Both packages end off the trip at the Motswari Safari Lodge in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve. Take twice-daily game drives, spotting wild creatures of all kinds, then enjoy delicious dinners in the open-air thatched boma. Take a guided bush walk and learn about the 350 different bird species in the area. Or try a night-time game drive to see the incredible nocturnal wildlife, like the hyena and the leopard.
